Past incidents

Elevated ingestion latency in US-East

August 14, 2026 · Duration 42 min · Resolved

Between 16:07 and 16:49 UTC, a subset of ingestion nodes in us-east-1 experienced elevated write latency after a routine storage-tier compaction job overlapped with peak traffic. Roughly 3% of data points were delayed by up to 9 minutes; no data was lost.

Postmortem: compaction jobs are now rate-limited during peak windows and scheduled per-shard. Alert thresholds for write-path lag were tightened from 10 to 3 minutes.

Delayed alert notifications

July 2, 2026 · Duration 1 h 12 min · Resolved

From 09:18 to 10:30 UTC, webhook and Slack notifications were delayed up to 25 minutes due to a misconfigured queue consumer after a deploy. Alert evaluation itself was unaffected — dashboards and the API showed correct alert states throughout.

Postmortem: the consumer configuration is now covered by a canary check that fails the deploy pipeline when notification lag exceeds 60 seconds.
